Recall: PDF Amplifiers

IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL NOTICE

This notice has been published to inform our customers of important information concerning Alpine Electronics PDR line of amplifiers.

What is the reason for this notice?
Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. ("Alpine") has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in PDR-F50, PDR-M65, and PDR-V75 amplifiers.

! I M P O R T A N T!
• Your Alpine PDR-F50, PDR-M65, or PDR-V75 is being recalled.
• Contact the dealer you purchased the amplifier from or refer to the dealer locator on http://www.alpine-canada.com/where-to-buy/ to find the nearest Alpine dealer to you.

Why is a recall being conducted?

There is a defect of the power circuit board (PCB) due to a lack of proper thickness in the copper insulation in the walls of the through holes, and improper fuses. Current can increase on the PCB which can create an abnormal hot spot on the PCB, which in turn could lead to overheating, smoking, and increasing the risk of a fire.

What are we doing about the problem?

Alpine has recalled all PDR-F50, PDR-M65, and PDR-V75 amplifiers from the market for inspection and replacement.

What should you do?
